Creating Bongo/Video Assignments

Bongo/Video Assignments are not compatible with Safari, and limited in capability with mobile devices. A desktop or laptop is recommended using Firefox or Chrome.

Bongo/Video Assignments can only be linked once and must be linked directly in Content Modules not within Webpages/etc. Linking more than once will cause error messages or make the assignment completely inaccessible for students

Are you creating a Bongo/Video Assignment from Content or Tools

As best practice and for ease of use with less steps we recommend creation from Content.

1. Go to Content, click on the Module you would like to work inside:

2. Click on Existing Activities, and scroll down on the drop down menu until you see Video Assignment. Click on Video Assignment:

3. From the Video Assignment pop up, you can now create the needed video assignment from the options listed:

Use an Existing Activity only works if the assignment is not already linked within the course. Copy an Existing Assignment creates a duplicate assignment.

Which type of Bongo/Video Assignment are you creating?

1. From the Individual Assignment creation window under the General Tab you will add a name to the assignment, a due date, and instructions for the students:

2. From the Individual Assignment creation window under the Evaluation tab you can select the type of evaluation for this assignment. Clicking More Options provides other evaluation types. Only one type of evaluation can be selected. When an option is select, if more information is needed (such as attaching rubrics) options to do so are provided to the right of the option selected:

3. From the Individual Assignment creation window under the AI Feedback tab, you can adjust AI settings or toggle AI feedback off for the specific assignment:

4. From the Individual Assignment creation window under the Learning Objectives tab, you can create learning objectives for this video assignment:

5. From the Individual Assignment creation window under the Toolset tab you can select the tools students are allowed or required to use for this assignment:

6. From the Individual Assignment creation window under the Peer Review tab you can select if peer reviews are required as well as selecting the amount required, whether or not reviewers are hidden, a due date, and more:

7. Once you have finished creation, click Save in the upper right corner, the screen should refresh and you will see you new Video Assignment within the Module:

1. From the Question & Answer Assignment creation window under the General Tab you will add a name to the assignment, a due date, and instructions for the students:

2. From the Question & Answer Assignment creation window under the Evaluation tab you can select the type of evaluation for this assignment. Clicking More Options provides other evaluation types. Only one type of evaluation can be selected. When an option is select, if more information is needed (such as attaching rubrics) options to do so are provided to the right of the option selected:

3. From the Question & Answer Assignment creation window under the Questions tab you can create your own questions (click control & enter after each question) or upload materials to have questions generated:

4. From the Question & Answer Assignment creation window under the Answers tab, you can select the tools students use to answer, retake allowance, etc.

5. From the Question & Answer creation window under the AI Feedback tab, you can adjust AI settings or toggle AI feedback off for the specific assignment:

6. From the Question & Answer creation window under the Peer Review tab you can select if peer reviews are required as well as selecting the amount required, whether or not reviewers are hidden, a due date, and more:

7. Once you have finished creation, click Save in the upper right corner, the screen should refresh and you will see you new Video Assignment within the Module:

4. From the Group creation window under the Group Options tab, you can select the type of groups you wish to create, select group evaluation and the number of groups:

5. From the Group Assignment creation window under the Toolset tab you can select the tools students are allowed or required to use for this assignment:

7. Once you have finished creation, click Save in the upper right corner, the screen should refresh and you will see you new Video Assignment within the Module:

The create an Interactive Video window is all house on one page. One this page you can create a title, due date, and instructions:

Scrolling further down you will select the video icon under Interactive Video:

A popup window will allow for you to Record, Upload or Select a Video from the course resources, pick the needed option to add the video:

Once the video has finished uploading, you will be able to click on Create Question. Please note, depending on the size of your video and connectivity this can take several minutes or more:

From the Create Question window, you can select the question type (Multiple Choice or Video), the time the question appears, and the question itself. Once your question is created click OK. Repeat this process for up to twenty questions:

Once all questions have been created, scroll further down to see the percentage options for each question, add the percentage for each question then select Save:

The screen should refresh and your nearly created assignment should be visible in the module:

1. Go to Tools on the Navbar then select Video Assignment:

2. On the bottom right hand side of the screen, select the plus '+' icon

3. From the icons available, select the needed type of Assignment:

7.  Once you have finished creation, click Save in the upper right corner, the screen should refresh and you will see you new Video Assignment within the Assignments:

8. To then add the assignment to your course content, select Content, then click on the Module you would like to add your assignment to:

9. Click on Existing Activities, and scroll down on the drop down menu until you see Video Assignment. Click on Video Assignment:

10. Click on Use Existing Assignment:

11. From the selection window, click the needed assignment then click Continue. The screen will refresh and the assignment will now be populated within the module:
