1. Log in to your D2L course and navigate to the course homepage. In the navbar, select Tools and select Course Admin from the drop-down menu.

2. In the Course Administration window, select "Widgets" from the Site Setup category.

3. Click the "Widgets" tab at the top, then select the blue "Create Widget" button located on the left-hand side of the screen.

4. In the "Properties" tab of the "New Widget" window, enter a name for the widget in the designated "Name" text field, and customize the name and description for your widget as desired. In this example, we are going to create a new Instructor Widget.

5. You can set up specific release conditions for your widget in the "Release Conditions" tab and customize the content that will be displayed in your widget in the "Content" tab. When done, select the blue "Save and Close" at the bottom.

Log in to your D2L course and navigate to the course homepage. In the navbar, select Course Resources and select Course Admin from the drop-down menu.

Then, click on the "Homepages" icon

7. Select the appropriate homepage from the list. In this example, we have selected default homepage: "PCC Daylight Course Home default - Copy."

8. In the Edit Homepage window, the "Basic Plus" layout is used in the following example.

You can either select the "Add Widgets" button located on the large left panel if you want them to appear on that side or on one smaller panel on the right.

Select your newly created Instructor widget from the list of available widgets.

9. When done, select the blue "Save and Close" button at the bottom.

Well done! Your new Instructor widget should now appear on your course homepage.
