1a. Upon logging in, observe the overall layout of the homepage. The Course Homepage displays a top minibar offering multiple standard navigation options. These options include icons for profile customization and notification settings to suit your preferences.

1b. The initial icon in the minibar, represented by a waffle, acts as a starting point for accessing your courses. When you select this icon, it opens a list of the courses you are enrolled in. From this list, you either search for a course or select from the list and access the specific course you want to enter.

2a. To personalize your profile, locate and select your profile picture or name in the top minibar. This will open a drop-down menu and select "Profile." This will take you to your profile page.

2b. On Edit My User profile page, you will see various fields and sections to edit and personalize your profile information. Review, add or update your profile information as desired.

2c. Once done, select the blue Save and Close button to save your changes and exit the page.

3a. Next, you can set up notifications to receive email alerts whenever your instructor posts new announcements or grades. To do this, navigate back to the top minibar, select your profile picture or name and select "Notifications."

3b. On the Notifications page, you will find various notification options including mobile notifications via the Pulse App (available on App Store or Google Play), email notifications by adding your email address, and notifications within the D2L Brightspace platform.

3c. Review the available notification options and customize them according to your preferences. You can usually choose which types of notifications you want to receive, such as announcements, discussions, assignment updates, grades, and more under the Instant Notifications section.

3d. Once you have made your desired changes, select the blue Save button to save the settings and exit the page. Subsequently, the system will initiate sending notifications to the chosen channels, keeping you informed about events and activities taking place within your courses. And some, you will receive through message alerts, subscription alerts, and update alerts located in the top navigation bar.

3e. Select the icons to view the alerts.

4a. To customize and manage your personal account preferences and configurations, select your profile name in the top minibar and select "Account Settings" from the dropdown menu.

4b. You will be directed to the Account Settings page where you can view and update your personal details such as your email and password, and see other customization options..

5a. In another navigation options, you will find the Help tab. Select the tab to access the help and support resources available in D2L Brightspace. Use the "Help" resources as a reference in the future whenever you need assistance or have questions while navigating and using the platform.
