Follow these steps to embed your video if your video is not public:
4. Option 1 is to add the video using “Insert Stuff.” Return to your course and edit the item’s “Description” window then click on that item’s drop-down and select Edit Topic.

5. An Edit Topic page will generate. Then select the “Insert Stuff” button and select “Enter Embed Code.”

6. An Enter Embed Code window will generate. Paste in your YouTube’s embed code and select the Next button.

7. When the preview window appears, select the blue “Insert” button and then the “Save and Close” button in the main page.


8. Option 2 is to add the video using HTML Source Editor. From your description window, click on the Source Code (< / >) symbol in the lower left corner to open the source editor.
9. Paste your code where you would like to appear on the D2L page.
If you don't see the </> symbol, click the 3 dots (more actions) button on the top-right of the description box.
10. Option 3 is adding a video to a widget. To open an existing widget’s editor. From that widget’s drop-down, select “Edit this Widget.”

11. This will take you to the Edit this widget page, then choose the “Content” tab to open the description window and click on the < / > button in the lower left corner to open the source editor.
If you don't see the </> symbol, click the 3 dots (more actions) button on the top-right of the description box.

12. Add the video container code around the iframe then select Save.
