About
There are a few ways to complete the "Schedule of Work" (SOW) component. The component is not required, unless your Department states otherwise.
This guide will walk you through how to create a table in the component, add a link to a schedule of work content topic in D2L, and copy a schedule of work from a document and paste it into the component.
Creating a Schedule of Work Table
Select the "Insert Table" button.
Select the number of rows and columns for the table.
The tool has a limit of creating ten rows and columns at a time.
Select a cell (1) on the table to add more rows and/or columns. To add a row select the down-arrow (2) next to the "Row" button. Select whether to add a row above or below the cell (3).
To add a column select the down-arrow (4) next to the "Column" button. Select whether to add a column before or after the cell (5).
Add content to the table.
Use the Simple Syllabus: Toolbar Features in a Component guide, if needed.
Copying and pasting may cause accessibility and formatting issues. We recommend doing it one cell at a time.

Congratulations, you have successfully completed the "Schedule of Work" component!
Linking to a Schedule of Work in D2L
A Content Topic will only be available if you created it or it is cloned from a Master Course Shell. Reach out to your Department Head for more information about a Course Master Shell. Use the Creating a Module and Uploading Content guide if needed.
Locate the Schedule of Work (1) in the D2L "Content" (2) tab.
Use the Navigating the Content Area in D2L guide, if needed.
Highlight (1) the URL. Copy (2) the URL.
Make sure the URL in D2L is to the same CRN as the Syllabus. Students only have access to the D2L course shell which they are registered for.
Navigate to your Simple Syllabus "Schedule of Work" component. Select the "Insert Link"(1) icon, and paste the URL in the "URL" box (2). Add a title in the "Text" box (3). Check the "Open in new tab" (4) box. Select the "Insert" (5) button.

Copying and Pasting a Schedule of Work
Rich text is enabled in Simple Syllabus. Content that is copied and pasted retains its original formatting, including colors, font type, and font size.
Select the "Type something" text (1) in the body of the component and select the "Paste" (2) option.

Accessibility issues may arise if the SOW has certain color, font, or highlighted text. Use the Simple Syllabus: Resolving Accessibility Issues guide if needed.
