Simple Syllabus: Editable Component Settings (CSTs Only)

Updated on

About

Editable components have settings that Common Syllabus Template (CST) Editors can change. The following guide will explain the settings and what should not be changed. You will not be able to edit/change locked components. The settings may be different for components you add to the CST. Use the Simple Syllabus: Adding a New Component (CSTs Only) if needed.

Expand or collapse content Conditional Logic Settings

Some components have conditional logic settings that filter the information added by modality. You cannot change or remove the "Conditional Logic" tab settings. If you would like to add a component with conditional logic please email [email protected].

The "Optional/Required" (1) toggle determines if instructors are required to include the component on their syllabi. The component will need to be completed before faculty can submit their syllabus. If the toggle has a lock next to it, the component is required at the PCC template level and cannot be changed.

The "Visible/Invisible" (2) toggle determines if a component will appear on published syllabi. If the toggle has a lock next to it, the component is required at the PCC template level and cannot be changed.

The "Public/Private" (3) toggle should not be changed. The setting determines which users the component will be visible to. Components set to public will be viewable within the Syllabus Library. Components set to private will only be accessible to authorized users such as, approvers, instructors, and students.

The "Lock" (4) icon will lock the Public setting, so lower lever (CRN) syllabi editors cannot change it.

Public does not mean the general public. Pima has a login authentication requirement.
