Simple Syllabus: The Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials Component

If your course does not require a textbook, or if your textbook is integrated with D2L, you may indicate that information by following the steps in this article.

1. To edit the Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials component, select the pencil icon next to “Add new material.”

2. In the TITLE field, enter the appropriate phrase similar to: “No textbook required for this course” or “No textbook to purchase; it’s integrated with D2L.”

Note: This can also be used for OER materials.

3. Scroll down and select "Save."

4. Congratulations, you have indicated that no textbook is required for this course!

This is what it will look like in the Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials component from the instructor's view.
