Importing a component into a syllabus is helpful for instructors that have a completed syllabus from a previous or existing term. The following instructions show how to import a component using the import tool in Simple Syllabus. You can only import from your own syllabus.
Importing a component will overwrite any existing information within that component. Be aware the PCC Syllabus Template changes once every Academic Year.
If your department uses a Common Syllabus Template, components may already contain information. Please consult with your supervisor before using this tool!

The Replace with a different syllabus? feature does not allow you to pick which components to import.
Select the Import button from the syllabus you want to import into.
In the search criteria (1), populate the search fields relevant to the syllabus you are importing from such as, term, subject, course number, and/or Instructor name. You can also fill in related info in the Search field (2), such as the CRN. Select the syllabus (3) to copy from.
The PCC Syllabus Template changes once every Academic Year. For example, the AI Statement component has been updated every year. Importing a component will overwrite any existing information within that component. Make sure you are only importing a syllabus from the same Academic Year.
Select the Advanced (select content to import) (1) toggle. From the drop down menu, select the title of the target content (2) to import into next to the source content (3) to import from.
Select the Do not import choice in the drop-down menu next to the components you do not wish to import into.
Select the Finalize button.
Verify the component(s) selected (1) to import from and into are accurate. Select the Start import of the following content button (2).
Select the Close button. The page will refresh and the import will complete.
Congratulations, you have successfully imported components into the syllabus!
