There are two "Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials" components, one for Online and one for All Other Modalities. Below are the instructions for completing the "Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials components for both in a CST. You can also use the Simple Syllabus: The Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials Component and Simple Syllabus: Adding Supplemental Materials Pima Tech Guides to complete the components.
Any components that CST editors can edit are also editable by CRN-level editors. CST editors cannot lock those components. Please communicate with your faculty if you add information that should be retained.
The word "Template" indicates all Syllabus Templates such as, Common Syllabus (CST), Department, and Division Templates.
The syllabus type and term are indicated on the template (1).
For the "Common Syllabus Template", on the Simple Syllabus dashboard select the "Edit" (2) button to open the template.
For the "Department/Division Template" select the "Templates" button (1). In the Templates tool select the "Edit" button (2).
Select the "Add new material" (1) button to add a textbook and/or materials to the component.
The "Help Text" helps identify which "Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials" component is for "Online" (2) and which is for "ALL OTHER MODALITIES" (3).
Below are examples of the completed Online and All Other Modalities Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials Components.
Both "Required Textbook(s) and/or Materials" components will need to be populated if you want the information to be visible for online and all other modality syllabi.
