PlayPosit: Learner-Made Bulbs Creating a Bulb (Interactive Video)

In this article, you will learn the basics for creating a PlayPosit bulb (interactive video) including adding a video, adding interactions, and adjusting settings.

Prerequisites

  • Have an assignment in D2L where you need to create a PlayPosit interactive video
  • Have a Panopto video recorded or a video selected from another host source (YouTube, or Vimeo).

Step-by-step Instructions

1. Adding your Video

If the assignment doesn't open, make sure you allow pop-ups from D2L in your browser.

Navigate to the video timestamp below the video on the left side of the screen where you will find the Start and Stop buttons. Next, select Done to the lower right of the video timestamp.

Success! Your video will appear to the right of the screen and is ready to add Interactions. The Bulb Designer (video editor) will appear to the left.

2. Adding Interactions
Interactions tab is open in the bulb designer. Message to click the “add an interaction” button below to begin adding interactions.

  • Simple answer options include Multiple Choice, Check All, Fill In the Blank, and Poll.
  • Free Response and Discussion allow you to request longer input from the viewer.
  • Supplementary information options include Pause (to include important instructions or background information), Web Embed (to include supplementary sources like web pages), and PDF File (to include a PDF for viewing purposes only).

For this tutorial, we will review how to create a Multiple Choice Interaction. The same principles apply to all interactions.

3. Review & Submit

You can preview or submit your video now. Once you submit, you will not be able to go back and make changes.
