PlayPosit: Adding a PlayPosit Bulb to D2L

PlayPosit Bulbs allow for learners to interact and engage with streaming videos. These interactions layered on top of streaming videos are referred to as bulbs. This article will explain how a bulb can be added to a D2L course via Existing Activities.

Step-by-step Instructions

1. Navigate to your D2L course and the content module where you want to add the PlayPosit bulb. Select Existing Activities and then select PlayPosit Interactive Video.

2. Select Set Link.

3. Select the bulb you would like to link by clicking the D2L icon next to the bulb name.

4. Or select the Action (three dots) button and then select Set Bulb Link.

5. Select a Learner Experience and a Sync Grades to LMS option:

Learner Experience Options

Self-paced- Choose this option if you want learners to take the Bulb individually, on their own device, at their own pace (most commonly used).
Broadcast- Choose this option if you want learners to complete the Bulb synchronously in class. Learn more about PlayPosit: Instructor Broadcast Bulb Guide.

Sync Grades to LMS Options

Yes- Grades will be synced to the grade book once learners complete the Bulb or Playlist (most commonly used).
No- Grades will not be synced to the grade book. By default, D2L will add a column in the grade book for deep linked bulbs but grades will appear as -%. We recommend hiding this empty grade item from students. Learn more about PlayPosit: Hiding Bulb Grades in D2L.

Next, select Link

No matter which Sync Grades to LMS option you select, a D2L Gradebook item will automatically be created for this PlayPosit Bulb.
