PlayPosit: Hiding a Bulb Grade Item

If a PlayPosit bulb has been added to a D2L course using the Existing Activities option, then a grade will always be pushed from PlayPosit to D2L every time a student interacts with the bulb. If you do not want the PlayPosit bulb to count as points in the course, then it is best to hide the bulb grade item and then exclude the grade from the student's final grade calculation.

Prerequisites

PlayPosit Bulb added/linked to your D2L course site. To learn more see PlayPosit: Adding a PlayPosit Bulb to D2L.

Step-by-step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Grades section of your D2L course by selecting Grades from the top Navbar.

2. Select the drop-down carrot button next to the PlayPosit bulb you want to hide and select Edit.

3. Under the Properties tab, scroll down to and check the box next to the Exclude from Final Grade Calculation option.

Note: If using weighted grades the the Exclude from Final Grade option is not given. You will instead make the Weight of the grade item 0.

4. Select the Restrictions tab at the top of the Edit Item page and select the box next to Hide from Users. Then, select Save and Close.

5. Congrats! This PayPosit grade item is now not impacting the students' grades in the course and hidden from the student view in the D2L grade book.
