PlayPosit: Learner-Made Bulb Experience Guide for Instructors

Updated on

About

A Learner Made Bulb will allow a learner to have access to the PlayPosit Bulb Designer to create their own interactive video. All the specifications and access will be administered by the instructor. The Learner can be graded according to the Instructor's criteria for their uploaded video with embedded content. Possible use cases include:

  • Review projects where learners create their own questions on video already seen.
  • Have learners create their own video and add interactions to increase engagement. This video can then be shared with other students.
  • Record a learner's presentation and have them reflect on their performance with comments.

1. PlayPosit Bulb Designer experience for Learners

There are 2 key differences from an Instructor and a Learner discussed below. Although the content designing and video uploading are similar, the options for entering and exiting the PlayPosit Bulb Designer vary.

Image of the learner made bulb assignment in D2L from the student view. A Playposit pop up window appears and says “Upload your video, add interactions, and submit it to your instructor”. The start button is selected for the student to begin.

The Learner proceeds to create their interactive video as the instructor would. They can upload their video via URL, Youtube, and Panopto. (There are other options but those are the most used and preferred. ) The Learner can then proceed to add embedded content to the video to create their bulb.

The Learner will have to make sure that the results are final. They can't go back to change what they have submitted after the fact.

You are done. Great job!
