Panopto: Granting Creator Access to Your Videos

Updated on

About

Creator access cannot be granted for individual videos. Instead, you will need to share the folder the video is in with the person or group you would like to provide Creator access to your video(s). Follow this guide to learn how to grant creator access to your folder.

Step-by-step Instructions

Image showing a Panopto folder showing to select the share icon found in the top menu after the folder name and refresh button.
Image showing share pop up showing to add emails under the first option, People and Groups. Access can be changed through the dropdown menu found directly after this.
Image of a nested folder with no option to add users under People and groups. Select Change found after the Parent folder name under People and groups.

Any users added at the parent folder level will not have automatic access to this nested folder if you select to stop inheriting permissions.

Message found after selecting change: “Stop inheriting users and permissions?...” After the message the options to cancel or stop inheriting are found.

You can now add your desired collaborators.

Success! You have added a collaborator to your Panopto folder. With Creator access, your collaborator can edit, add or delete, and share videos in the folder.

You are done. Great job!
