Panopto: Adding Videos to D2L With Panopto Embed

Panopto Embed is an option for adding Panopto videos to a D2L course. This option can be used to add video anywhere the rich text editor is available including discussions, announcements, assignments, etc. Do not use Panopto Embed to add videos to a page with HTML formatting, instead add the embed video by following the directions found on Panopto: Embedding a Panopto Video in D2L.

Step-by-step Directions

2. Navigating to the Panopto Embed Option

2.1. Navigate in your D2L course to where you would like to add the video. The example below is the description of a Content module where we would like to add the video

2.2. Select the Insert Stuff button located in the rich text editor.

2.3. Scroll down and select Panopto Embed.

3. Logging Into Panopto Inside D2L (May Not Be Required)

3.1. Verify the D2L/MyPima Credentials option is selected. Then, select Sign in.

Depending on how recently you accessed Panopto, you may be prompted to login to Panopto.

3.3. Potential System Error

3. There is a known system error that that will not allow you to select Insert as it is not generated immediately after logging into Panopto through D2L. However, if you select Cancel and repeat the directions above in Step 2: Navigating to the Panopto Embed Option, then you will be able to insert the video and move on to Step 4: Final Steps.
