Panopto: Changing or Adding a Video's Thumbnail Image

There are multiple options on how to change or add a thumbnail image to your Panopto video.

Pick the option below that bets fits your situation:

This will also be the section where you can edit your thumbnail and delete or change it.

When you open the Panopto editor, the timeline should appear with a red bar to place in the video. Adjust the bar until it displays an image you'd like to use for your thumbnail.

Note: There are only 2 options with 1 primary video.

  • Image will be the first slide in a slide show.
  • The image will be selected from .5 seconds into the first secondary or primary video.
