Panopto: Selecting Video Quality

When viewing a Panopto video, there is the ability to adjust the video quality to help with potential internet bandwidth issues. In order to access this video quality option, you will have to watch the video in Panopto instead of your D2L course. The instructions below will show you how to watch the video in Panopto and access the video stream quality option.

Step-by-step Directions

1. Navigate to Content in your D2L course and select the module that has the Panopto video that you want to watch. Select the link to the Panopto video

2. Select the Watch in Panopto button in the bottom right corner of the Panopto video. This will launch the video in a new tab on the Panopto video player.

3. In the Panopto video player, you will select the Quality button in the far bottom right corner of the video player

4. After selecting the Quality button, you will be given the video quality options for the video. These are usually Automatic, Medium, and High. The selected video quality will be shown in blue. Select another option to adjust to your preferred quality.

Congrats! You now can watch the Panopto video at higher or lower quality as you need. Just push play to continue your video.
