Perusall: Disabling Commenting in a Document

Although Persuall is structured to facilitate annotations and discussions, there are times when disabling comments in a document is necessary based on learning and teaching needs. This article will demonstrate how to disable a document from receiving comments for this purpose.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate and open the Persuall course for comment disablement.

Note: This step might not be necessary if the Perusall Dashboard Course page is opened directly.

3. Navigate to the Library content item of your preference and select Edit.

This example is for a text document library content item. Other library items such as videos and podcasts can use this feature to prevent comments.

4. Use the scroll bar to navigate down to the option "Prevent commenting on this document" and select it. When finished, select OK.

5. The Library Content document item now has comments disabled. As indicated by the "Discussion has been disabled for this content" notification.

Congratulations! You have successfully disabled comments in a document.
