Perusall: Adding a Quiz

This article will walk you through how to create a Perusall Quiz. You can incorporate an online quiz into a single or multi-part assignment. This is a great supplement to help students recall what they learned in their assignments. For more information, see Perusall Support.

Prerequisite

Sign in to Perusall and enter the course folder where you would like to create your quiz.

Step-by-Step Instructions

You can also import an existing quiz using a QTI package or CSV file.

Name your quiz using naming conventions and include instructions. Select the desired settings for credit and feedback and add a thumbnail image if desired (this will show in Perusall).

The students can change their answers and engage with the quiz all the way up until the scores are released.

Explanations of Types of Questions

There are 7 options as shown below:

  • Text Only
  • Multiple Choice
  • Multiple Answer
  • Numeric Entry
  • Short Answer
  • Essay
  • Math Expression

The text only option allows you to include important or supplemental information without needing a response.

Note: If you want to grade the short answer response manually, leave the correct response blank.

Note: Providing a minimum will automatically grade their answer as correct. If you want to grade it manually, leave the minimum word count blank.
