Create dates based on the hypothetical semester it will first be taught. As part of the Perusall course setup for clones of this master, the dates of the course and assignments will automatically adjust based on the master course.
- Automatic grading and engagement analytics: Perusall will provide data about student engagement for your review and assignments will be graded automatically. You can always override automatically-assigned grades and decide when they are displayed to students.
- Manual grading and engagement analytics: Perusall will provide data about student engagement for your review. Assignments will not be graded automatically, but you can review student engagement data and manually assign scores to students' assignment submissions.
- Disable grading, but provide engagement analytics: Perusall will provide data about student engagement for your review. All assignments will be ungraded and the gradebook will be disabled.
- Disable all analytics: Perusall will not provide data about student engagement. All assignments will be ungraded and the gradebook will be disabled.
1. On the Library course page, select Add content. Next, select Podcast.
2. Select the Source material option that best suits adding your podcast to Perusall.
a. Search for a podcast
b. Select episode from RSS podcast feed URL
c. Enter direct URL to MP2 audio file
a. The Search for a Podcast option allows you to find a podcast using the Search for text box. Type the name of the Podcast into the Search for text box and Perusall will show you several options to choose from. Select the image for the Podcast that you want to add to your Perusall Library. This will then allow you to select an episode using the Select episode from RSS podcast feed URL option.
b. The Select episode from RSS podcast feed URL option allows you to add a RSS Feed link by putting the URL of the podcast into the RSS feed URL text box or if using the Search for Podcast option, the episodes will populate on this page after selecting a podcast within the previous page.
To select the exact episode of a podcast that you want to add to your Perusall Library, select the episode button you want to add and then select OK.
c. The Enter direct URL to MP3 audio file option allows you to insert a podcast that you may have stored someplace on the internet like Google Drive. Add the URL to the Audio file URL text box and then select the OK button.
Congrats! Your podcast has been added to your Perusall library.
We strongly discourage the inclusion of a book from the Perusall Catalog, as this would necessitate students paying for access to the book within Perusall. Our intention is to wholeheartedly embrace the Open Educational Resources (OER) initiative set forth by Pima Community College, wherein students are not required to incur any additional expenses for their courses. Instead, we advise seeking OER materials that can be uploaded to Perusall using alternative document options.
For more information on OER at Pima, please visit the OER and Open Textbooks on the Pima Online Faculty Guide.
