H5P: Setting Up Grading

Use this guide to learn about the options you have for setting up grading in H5P. The grading options within H5P itself are pretty limited. Most changes will occur through D2L.

Grade Options within H5P

These options apply when inserting an H5P activity into D2L using Insert Stuff. Inserting your activity this way in D2L will automatically create a grade item in the D2L gradebook.

1. Navigate to H5P.com and select your desired H5P content and select Edit.

2. Navigate below the content creation where you will find settings. Select LTI Settings.

3. Choose when to send scores to the LMS (D2L).

Available options are Do not send score, First attempt, Last attempt, and Best attempt.

The do not send score option will not create a gradebook item when inserted into D2L.

Grade Options within D2L

H5P activities are automatically imported into the gradebook worth 10 points. You can change this through the D2L gradebook.

1. Navigate to the D2L gradebook within your course by selecting Grades in the navbar and then select Manage Grades.

2. Navigate to your desired H5P activity in the gradebook and select the down caret and select Edit.

3. Below the Grading heading, enter your desired points in the Maximum Points section.

4. Select Save and Close to save grade item changes.

Success! You have updated your H5P activity in the D2L gradebook.
