H5P Smart Import: Importing Content

About

To begin the Smart Import process, you will need to import content for the AI engine to transcribe. Please visit H5P.com Smart Import Introduction and Video Tutorial page for detailed information on what can and cannot be imported into Smart Import. This guide will walk you through the process of how to add content to begin the Smart Import process.

Pre-requisites

1. Navigate to your H5P.com account and select the Smart Import button.

2. Select New Import to begin your smart import or to review imports in progress.

Smart Import Options with Step-by-step Instructions

Select your desired source type to view step-by-step instructions on how to insert your content into Smart Import.

1. Import From File

1.1. Select File for your source. Next, select Choose File.

1.2. Select the file you would like to import and then select Open.

The image below is from a Mac. Those using Windows computers may have a slightly different process, but the idea is the same. Select the file and confirm your selection.

1.3. Specify customization (optional)

Specify what you would like Smart Import to focus on. Add learning objectives, focus, or difficulty level. For more guidance on creating customization language, please view H5P's article Smart Import-Customization.

1.4. Select Submit.

1.5. Congrats! Smart Import has begun transcribing your content.

You are ready to proceed to the step, H5P Smart Import: Editing the Transcript (Review Text).

2. Import From a Web Page

We recommend using the Link option for Panopto, YouTube, Vimeo, Wikipedia, and other website content.

2.1. Select "Link" below Select a source for Smart Import.

2.3. Specify customization (optional)

Specify what you would like Smart Import to focus on. Add learning objectives, focus, or difficulty level. For more guidance on creating customization language, please view H5P's article Smart Import-Customization.

2.4. Select Submit.

2.5. Congrats! Smart Import has begun transcribing your content.

You are ready to proceed to the step, H5P Smart Import: Editing the Transcript (Review Text).

3. Import From Text

3.1. Select Text from the available options to paste text directly into Smart Import.

3.2. Enter a title. Next, paste in the text you would like to import.

The text you paste in here must be at least 500 characters in length and less than 50,000 characters in length. Only text can be imported by Smart Import. Images, tables, spreadsheets and other such content cannot be imported by Smart Import. For more details see H5P.com's Smart Import Introduction and Video Tutorial.

3.3. Specify customization (optional)
