Packback: Cloning Packback for a New CRN

In this article, you will learn how to utilize Packback's cloning option. You will need to follow this process anytime you teach a course that is cloned from a Master Course to any other course. Repeat this process for each individual CRN.

Note: Each cloned course should already have a course login, but if it does not then please check out our article Packback: Adding Packback to D2L to learn how to set up a Packback login for your course.

Step-by-Step Instructions

1. Navigate to the Packback Support for Clone Course Master module and copy the Packback Template ID.

2. Launch Packback from the newly cloned D2L course by selecting the Packback access link in the course.

Selecting the Packback access link will trigger a connection between your new D2L CRN and Packback.

3. Select Copy Existing Community.

You may need to scroll down to see the Copy Existing Community button.

4. Select the Enter Existing Template ID instead button.

5. Enter the Existing Template ID. Enter the Start and End Dates. Then, select Continue.

6. Look over the details and select Create Community.

6.1. (Optional) Edit Community Details

If you need to make any edits to the course details before copying you may select the Edit button to right of the community details.

7. Congrats! Your community has been cloned. Select, Go to community to complete any additional course setup need such as adjusting deadlines for assignments.
