Use this simple Accessibility Checklist to create accessible content.

Accessibility Checklist

Use this checklist to manually evaluate new or existing course content.

Text & Layout:

1. Font size is at least 12px.

2. Sufficient contrast exists between text and background.

Headings & Structure:

3. Proper heading styles (Heading 1, Heading 2) are applied using the header tool within the application.

4. Headings follow a logical order without skipping levels.

Images & Visuals:

5. Images contain descriptive alternative text (alt text).

6. Purely decorative images are marked as decorative.

Tables & Lists:

7. Tables are used for tabular data only (not page layout).

8. Tables contain defined column headers.

9. Built-in bulleted or numbered list features are used.

Links & Media:

10. Hyperlink text describes the target destination.

11. Built-in PowerPoint slide layouts are used.

PDF Settings:

12. PDFs contain selectable text (not scanned images).

13. PDF document tags are present.
