1. Log in to your D2L course and navigate to the content area using the navigation bar at the top of the page.
2. In this example, we are currently on the Course Introduction page and we want to add a link to the text "Pima's Online Student Guide."
Click on the page, then use either the drop down menu next to the title of the page or use the 'Edit HTML' button at the bottom of the page. You can also create a file and use this guide on the new file.
3. Add the hyperlink to your content by highlighting the text you want to link and selecting the "Insert Quicklink" button from the toolbar.

4. In the Quicklink dialog box, select "URL" from the left-hand menu and paste or type in the URL you want to link to in the "URL" field.

5. In the same dialog box, select the checkbox for "Open in New Window" to enable the "Hyperlink Opening in a New Tab" feature then select "Insert" to add the hyperlink to the text.

Repeat steps 3-5 for any additional hyperlinks you want to add to your content.
6. Once you are done, choose the gray "Save" button located at the bottom of the page to save any changes you have made, or select the blue "Save and Close" button to save the changes and exit the page.

Note: If you have already added a hyperlink to your content and want to edit it to open in a new tab, simply select the hyperlink to highlight it, then select the "Insert Quicklink" button in the toolbar. In the Insert Quicklink dialog box, select the "Open in New Window" checkbox and select "Update" to save your changes.
